I finished "Rich Dad, Poor Dad"

Translation of "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" written by Robert T. Kiyosaki is best seller in Japan.

In this book, this writer said as follows.
There are an asset and a liability. Middle class people buy something as a liability. For example, people make a lot of loan for a car or house.
An asset make money for you. For example owning stocks or lands, these thing make money for you.

Of course, such assets sometimes lead failure. But don't be afraid.

I can't have enough courage to have stocks by only reading this book.
I should gather more information about assets.

A solar boat on Fugan Canal

When I took a walk with my dog, sometimes I watched a solar boat on Fugan canal since last year.

I missed to take a photo of this boat.

Today I took a photo of this solar boat. The name of this boat is 'sora'.

The meaning of Sora in Japanese is sky. But 'Sora' and 'solar' is similar pronunciation in Japanese. This is a pun.

Some day, I'd like to ride this boat.

I finished "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest"

I have read "The Girl Who Kicked The Hornets' Nest".

Salander was severely wounded and was hospitalized. And Zalachenko was also hospitalized in the same hospital where Salander got medical operation.

Swedish secret police "The Section" made operations for covering up the affairs by Zalachenko.

By the way, Blomkvist in Millennium Journal had a plan to reveal rotten Swedish secret police history.

Salander was accused for attempting to murder Zalachenko.

I was interested in the battles in court.

I began this reading aloud training since the end of February. The dialogues between Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd is very fast. I can't catch up with their speaking speed. But this training is interesting.

I would like to continue this training at least 6 months.

To memorize this drama's dialogue is very difficult. I'll pick up useful expression from this drama, and I'll memorize these sentences.

I read "Sphere" by Michael Crichton

I read the paperback entitled "Sphere".

This book is written by Michael Crichton. I like his novels.

In this book, first of all, U.S. Navy discovered mysterious sphere in Southern Pacific ocean. Then many scientists were gathered to solve the mystery of this sphere. For example, an astronomer, a mathematician, a zoologist were gathered.
Norman was not a pure scientist but a psychologist. There are many incidents and accidents in deep seabed navy base.

There are scientific topics like astronomy, zoology, pschology in this novel.

The progress of the story is slow until middle stage, it is hard to read for me.

"Reading aloud" is effective?

Nowadays, I read out English TV drama. The title of drama is "Moonlighting". Main actors are
Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. They speak very rapidly. I can't keep up with their dialogues.

Sometimes I skip difficult dialogues.

But after reading aloud practice, I feel I can understand English dialogues in American TV drama very well.

I'd like to continue this reading aloud practice.

I read Lee o-young's"The compact culture".

I read "The compact culture". This book was written by South Korean professor Lee o-young.

This writer said Japanese culture is compact oriented.

For example, ancient time Japan import fan from China or Korea. And ancient Japanese people invent folding fan. That fan was compact. Then that was convinient for carrying.

From traditional Japanese culture, such as Japanese flower arrangement, Japanese traditional garden to modern Japanese technology like transistor radio, robot, these thing are compact oriented.

This book is very interesting Japanolgy book for me. If you like Japan or Japanese culture, please read. I read Japanese edition book, but unfortunately English edition book is out of print.
